Lieutenant Colonel Maria Stein, staff member of the Crime Dog Search Subdivision of the Budapest Police Headquarters poses for a photograph with Lilu, her specially trained police dog deployed in forensic rearches, on the bank of the Danube at Dunakeszi, northern Hungary, 03 July 2019. ’I could barely keep Lilu in the boat when she pointed to one of the bodies’, recalls Stein, who was in the team that launched the search for the missing persons. Advancing north from the Lagymanyosi Bridge of Budapest, they found three corpses with the help of dogs. Lilu is dotingly nicknamed Mrs. Professor and her playful title is paired with a respectful way of talking to her. She is over ten years old, which means this was probably her final major deployment as she retires next year.
